Vision Technology Services
celebrates 10 years of growth

Hunt Valley, Maryland — June 12 marked the 10th year of business for Hunt Valley-based IT services company, Vision Technology Services. Over the last decade, the company has become a leading provider of IT talent and project management services to some of the largest and most recognized companies throughout the mid-Atlantic region and selected markets across the country. The firm now employs more than 225 professionals.

After working for other IT talent services firms during the tech bubble of the late ‘90s and seeing first-hand what he describes a “serious service gap” in the industry, CEO Scott Cerasoli set out to create an IT staff augmentation company that would consistently deliver on its promises. Starting out from a home office with very modest plans for growth, Cerasoli and co-founder Rob Troska, now Vice President, managed to weather the prolonged recession and tech bust of the early 2000s.

Cerasoli and Troska soon began to exceed their own modest expectations, however. The firm’s solid growth is reflected in regional business rankings. In May 2010, The Baltimore Business Journal ranked Vision #1 among the Baltimore Area’s Largest IT Consulting Companies, having moved steadily up this list over the years. In addition, the journal ranked Vision in the top 50 private companies in the Baltimore area in both 2007 and 2008. In 2008, Vision earned Baltimore SmartCEO Magazine’s Future 50 Award, which recognizes the metropolitan area’s 50 fastest growing companies based on employee headcount and revenue for five consecutive years.

“It’s no accident we continue to make a big deal of commitments and execution,” said Cerasoli. “We’ve been honored to serve some of the very best companies in the market and employ some of the most talented professionals anywhere; and those things don’t happen without consistently delivering value to both clients and employees.”

According to its leaders, this focus on execution and delivering the people and processes to help clients successfully deploy IT solutions has set Vision apart from competitors.

“Client by client, Vision has outperformed some of the biggest names in the business,” said Troska.  “Vision’s success is derived from our commitment to present only the most appropriate candidates to hiring managers, and our pledge to support each Vision consultant throughout the weeks, months, or years of their assignment.”

For Vision employees, support continues to mean solid compensation, performance incentives, plus on-going project management and IT training for the hundreds of business analysts; software engineers;  help desk, network, database, java, and desktop support talent that Vision delivers to its list of blue chip clients.

Despite 10 years of strong growth, Cerasoli still manages to keep his expectations in perspective.  He regards growth not as a rule, but a reward for those who consistently deliver value and who are prepared to transform short-term wins into long-term success.  And just he and his team have done for the last 10 years, he plans to remain focused on those key operating ideas and principles into the future.
