IT Business Analyst
Position Description
REQUIRED SKILLS:
-Sr. Level Business Analyst with experience working on Web-site projects
-Experience working with business users and SME's to document processes for programmers and testers.
-Minimum of five years business system analysis and project coordination experience, preferably in a healthcare setting or has worked with National Healthcare Measures, clinical data in outpatient, inpatient and psychiatric care.
-Bachelor's degree in a computer science, informatics, business administration or related field.
-Intermediate to Expert level using Microsoft Office products(Word, Excel, Visio)
-Understanding of relational databases and knowledge of SQL
-Ability to proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following artifacts as needed: (Functional requirements (Business Requirements Document), iii. Use Cases, GUI, Screen and Interface designs)
-Drive and challenge business units/subject matter experts on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans
-Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously
-Ability to handle last minute requests and complete task in a short period of time.
-Ability to thrive in an environment that is evolving with their structure/processes. Familiar with Scrum Methodology
-Work independently with users to define concepts and under direction of Manager of Business Systems Analysis/Product Support
-Strong analytical, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
-Strong and project coordination skills required
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse levels of individuals in the organization; executives, managers, developers, Quality Assurance Analysts and subject matter experts, etc.
-Must be able to work in a team environment as well as work independently.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Business Systems/Product Support Analyst will be responsible for support existing and new web applications. The job will include extensive data analysis, requirements writing and project coordination and the ability to work with several areas of IT as well as Product Managers and Business Units simultaneously through the implementation of new development, enhancements and/or bug fixes.
Responsible for supporting existing web applications(internet) and/or implementing new web applications(internet)
Responsible for eliciting requirements by using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis.
Responsible for proactively communicate and collaborate with external (possible client site visits) and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following artifacts as needed: (Functional requirements (Business Requirements Document), iii. Use Cases, Data flow diagrams, GUI, Screen and Interface designs)
Responsible for developing requirements specifications according to standard templates, using natural language.
Responsible for critically evaluating information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
Serves as the conduit between the customer community (internal and external customers) and the software development team through which requirements flow.
Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
Responsible for being the liaison between the business units (Product Managers, Regional Coordinators, Marketing) and technology teams (Web Developers, Database Administrators)
ENVIRONMENT: Visual Basic, ASP, and .Net technologies; HTML and JavaScript: Oracle, SQL Server or similar DBMS; Actuate e.Reporting, Crystal Reports or Cognos reporting tools
