Jr./Mid Level Business Analyst
About the position
Vision technology Services has an immediate need for a Jr./Mid Level Business Analyst for our client in Columbia, MD.
Responsibilities:
Elicit business requirements using interviews, discussions, business analysis, document analysis, business process descriptions, workflow analysis, etc.
Deliver business requirements, user stories, and functional requirements to the development and quality teams.
Serve as the conduit between (internal) customers and the software development team through which requirements flow.
Collaborate with software developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
Work independently or in partnership with the User Interface Designer to create low-fidelity mockups and workflow diagrams.
Accomplish department and organization missions by completing related tasks as needed.
Responsible for long and short term product vision.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer/Management Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science or related is preferred but we will consider candidates with equivalent work experience.
Education or working knowledge in systems analysis and quality assurance techniques.
Strong analytical skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
1+ years experience in gathering and translating business requirements into functional specifications and/or performing quality assurance testing.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts throughout the entire lifecycle of a project.
Experience working with database-driven Web applications, preferably .NET.
An understanding of web technology and current trends - the what, why, when, and how of AJAX, HTML5, Flash, browsers, etc.
Excellent time management including the prioritization of tasks and controlling scope.
The ability to demonstrate work experience by providing work samples.
